Morning Skincare Routine

Morning Skincare Routine

My morning routine is all about dewy skin. I love the brightness and hydration that comes with my products. I use four products regularly. A cleanser, toner, serum, eye cream, and moisturizer. The products range in price of $18-$80. I never buy two products at once and they last me forever as I use very little. The product I go through fastest is the toner, but that's in $24 range from Glossier, and doesn't break the bank.

  • I am happy with all the products but I'm not thrilled by the brightening cleanser by Indie Lee. Don't get me wrong it does what I need. Doesn't strip my skin, or cause dryness. I just feel like I haven't found my perfect cleanser yet.
  • Next is my toner from Glossier, the solution. It's an aha/bha/pha toner. It has many acids in it including salicylic acid. I don't always want a lot of salicylic as my skin is dry, but I do get hormonal breakouts around my chin, and clogged pores on my nose so this helps keep that at bay. I haven't had a breakout since about two weeks after I started to use it. Mind you I exfoliate twice/three times a week with more intense chemical exfoliators.
  • I follow that up with my vitamin c serum from Tatcha. This is the most expensive of the products that I use in the morning, but I need so little and it makes such a difference in the glow of my skin that I think it's worth it. To help me fight free radicals and keep an even tone to my skin I reach for this. I would say it's the best vitamin c I've used thus far. Before this, I used Glow Recipes pineapple vitamin c serum. It did fine for the price but I was missing that glass skin look I wanted.
  • My eye cream is simple. It's Sephora brand brightening eye cream. Nothing special. It's the least expensive product I have and it does what it's meant to. I'm lucky and my concealer doesn't crease on me so the eye cream just smooths it out even more. Would I say I've seen a massive difference? No. Is it worth it? It's a cheap eye cream that does what it's meant to. I've used better but they're pricier and I haven't had that extra money when it's come to eye cream.

  • Last is my moisturizer the dewy skin from Tatcha. First off it's heavy! It comes with a scoop, you need to just cover the tip of it and place that on your hand and apply from there. No need for more. It gives a soft smooth finish, but depending on weather and how much you apply it can feel slick. I love this though. It hydrates and gives me a great base for makeup. Last forever too since you need so little. I would recommend you use it in the winter rather than summer though. Up until last month, I was using something else. A product I'll repurchase next summer but soon as September hit I switched. Overall it's a simple routine and takes little time to do in the morning. I'll admit sometimes I'm lazy and don't do it but most days I do. Any questions leave a comment. I'll talk to you Wednesday!
